Calculator entries and results
The retirement calculator runs locally in your browser. The ages, savings, contributions, spending, income, assumptions, and results shown in the calculator are not sent to us, our website host, an analytics service, a database, or another outside service.
We do not create a profile from those numbers or save your plan. Reloading or closing the page clears the calculator.
Ordinary website data
Like most websites, the services used to host, deliver, and protect RetirementGutCheck.com may process basic request information. That can include an IP address, the page requested, the date and time, browser or device information, and security or diagnostic events.
OpenAI Sites hosts the website. Cloudflare provides the domain’s registration and DNS service. We do not combine ordinary request data with calculator entries, because the calculator entries never leave your browser.
Messages you send us
If you email contact@retirementgutcheck.com, we receive whatever you choose to include, such as your email address, name or signature, message, attachments, and standard email metadata. Microsoft 365 processes and stores those messages for us.
No AI system currently has access to this mailbox. If we later add automated classification or summarization, we will limit it to read-only review, will not permit it to reply or take action, and will update this policy before it starts, including the provider and where messages are processed.
Please do not send account numbers, Social Security numbers, passwords, tax records, investment statements, or other sensitive information that is not needed for your question.
How information is used and shared
We may use ordinary technical information to deliver and protect the site, prevent abuse, and diagnose problems. We use email information to read and respond to messages, provide support, keep reasonable records, address misuse, and meet legal obligations when they apply.
We do not sell or rent personal information. Information may be processed by the service providers that help run the site and mailbox. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to a valid legal request, investigate abuse, or protect rights and safety.
How long information is kept
We do not keep calculator entries or results. Email may be kept for as long as reasonably needed to answer, maintain appropriate records, resolve a dispute, protect the site, or meet a legal obligation. Hosting and security providers keep technical information under their own operational policies.
You may ask us to delete an email you sent. We will consider the request based on the information we control and any legitimate security, recordkeeping, or legal need to keep it.
Security
Keeping calculator values in your browser limits their exposure. We also use established website and email providers. Even so, no website, email system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure, so please use care with anything you send by email.
Your choices and rights
You can use the calculator without an account or contact details. You can also choose not to email us or follow external links.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal information we hold, including asking for access, correction, or deletion. Email contact@retirementgutcheck.com to make a request. We may need to verify that the request concerns you. Because calculator entries never reach us, we cannot retrieve, correct, or delete them.
Other websites
The calculator links to independent resources from the Social Security Administration, the U.S. Department of Labor, and FINRA. Their privacy policies apply after you follow those links. We do not control those sites or their practices.
Children and visitors outside the United States
This site is intended for adults considering retirement and is not directed to children. If you believe a child sent personal information to us, please contact us so we can review it.
The site is intended mainly for a United States audience, though people elsewhere may visit. Our providers may process information in the United States or other places where they operate, and privacy laws may differ by location.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the site, its providers, or its information practices change. The revised policy will appear here with a new “Last updated” date.
